It's first appearance was in Castlevania: Symphony of the Night as a "Sparkling Ring". It could be sold to the Master Librarian for 150 Gold, which is lower than any other jeweled ring, and lower than the next more valuable ring, Aquamarine (800G). About two thirds of the jewels dropped by the Jewel Sword are Zircon.
In Castlevania: Lament of Innocence, it is again the least valuable Jewel (400G) and is half as valuable as Turquoise. Using a Zircon with the Jewel Crush item will give you a random amount of Gold. Luck will determine the likeliness of whether you would get more or less Gold than if you were to just sell it. Getting a large amount of money is akin to fooling a buyer into thinking that it is a diamond.
In Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia, it is the only jewel that has no use in any of the villagers' quests. It can only be sold for a low price.
