The Were Bane is a short sword in Castlevania: Symphony of the Night.

CharacteristicsEdit

The Were Bane is intended to be used as a were-buster. It is a short sword similar to a purple Rapier. It is dropped by the Hunting Girl (first found in the Royal Chapel) and has the same special flurry attack that she is able to do and that the Rapier has. The description says that it is effective against werebeasts, but this would not be too terribly useful, since the only were-beasts are the Werewolf and possibly the Wereskeleton or the Minotaur. It actually does not do any special damage to any of these creatures. Its actual effect is more useful than this, as it is actually strong against heavily armored enemies including the Armor Lord, Owl Knight, Warg Rider, and the Guardian. The sword probably has this effect because it is thin enough to slip in between the armored plates, similar to an Estoc.

This weapon is the second and last of the one-handed rapiers found in this game.
