Weapon Synthesis is a gameplay mechanic that appears in Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow. With Yoko Belnades' help, Soma Cruz can forge new weapons by using souls he collected in the castle. This allows him to upgrade his equipment for free, but requires the player to take some time to gather the required souls.
Weapon Synthesis is unlocked when the player escorts Yoko to her shop in The Lost Village. All weapons can be forged as soon as this option opens. Souls used in this process are definitively removed from Soma's body, meaning the player will need to start a New Game+ to obtain unique souls from bosses once again.
