Vapula is an enemy in Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin. It is a demon with a lion's body and a griffon's wings that can cause Curse status through the series of runes it spews out.

In demonology, Vapula is a powerful Great Duke of Hell that commands thirty-six legions of demons. He teaches philosophy, mechanics and sciences.
He is described in the Ars Goetia as "a lion with griffin wings", and is usually in this manner how he's portrayed.

Depicted in the Castlevania series as a large purple and red lion with wings, Vapula closely resembles its original description. It has a similar attack pattern as Glasya Labolas and attacks by spewing two long lines of waving runes that cause Curse status upon contact. This is perhaps based off its high level of knowledge, as described in the Ars Goetia.
