Wakwaktree2

Anthropomorphic and possessed trees can be found in several Castlevania games. They are large plant monsters that come in diverse forms and attack in a variety of ways.

Appearances

The first such creatures to appear in the series were the Dryads, spirits that protrude from the trees they inhabit taking an humanoid form. Dryads also appear in different form in Castlevania: Circle of the Moon as withered trees that create "puff ball" seeds that slowly move toward the player. They later took the form of stationary woman-like trees in Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow.

Boku Dracula-kun features an anthropomorphic Cactus that can move around and shoot needles at Kid Dracula in the deserts of Egypt.

A fruit tree from hell called Human Face Tree (じんめんじゅJinmenju?) appears in the garden stages in the Sega Saturn version of Symphony of the Night. Its fruit will instantly kill anyone who eats it, and the tree will kill anyone who tries to kill it as well.

Wakwak Trees appear in Dawn of Sorrow. Flea Men grow on their branches like fruit and are released once fully grown. The tree will keep on producing them until it is destroyed.

A giant walking tree called Treant first appeared in Dawn of Sorrow in the Garden of Madness stage (perhaps as a replacement for the Wooden Golem and Dryad). They are based on the Dungeons & Dragons Treant monster, which in turn is based on J. R. R. Tolkien's Ents. They behave almost exactly like the Golem, but do not fire anything from their mouth and are a little bit faster. The very first Treant guards the Magic Seal 2.

In Portrait of Ruin, Treants appear in the Forest of Doom stage. Here, they drop the Club card, which is necessary for completing one of Wind's quests. They have the same appearance as their Dawn of Sorrow counterparts, only a bit darker.
