Usually, any weapon works in order to break a secret wall/floor.

However, it may also depend on which game you're playing (AoS/DoS/PoR, I guess?). Some special walls require special items/powers.

Axes work the best for me when breaking the floors in DoS, I'm not sure if other weapons work, but try an axe, because the weapon has to swing at the right angle to hit it.

For a secret floor, a like using bombs. For a secret ceiling, I like to throw an axe at it.
