Thieves in Castlevania tend to steal items from the hero when making contact and then try to flee away with it. Oftentimes, destroying the thief after they have stolen an item will return the item. The thief in Castlevania: Rondo of Blood and O in Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance steal the equipped sub-weapon. The thief in Castlevania: Curse of Darkness tends to steal usable items, while Gi-Lee tends to steal rare items.

In games where the thief steals sub-weapons, they can be used to your advantage. Having no equipped sub-weapon in Castlevania: Rondo of Blood allows Richter Belmont to use his Flame Whip item crash, while Juste Belmont in Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance is only able to use his healing spell when he has a Summoning Tome and no sub-weapon equipped.

Game-Specific InformationEdit

Castlevania: Curse of DarknessEdit

Gi-LeeEdit

Just as the Thief steals usable items, the Gi-Lee likes to steal rare items. If you value your rare items, then it is best to avoid Gi-Lee, unless you want to chase it through the room to get your item back. It is first encountered in the Infinite Corridor, running around waiting for you to get close. Then it reappears after you obtain Phologiston. Afterwards, it is encountered in the Tower of Eternity and Dracula's Castle. They are easy to avoid, just like their counterparts.
