Stone Skulls (スピンヘッド, Spin Head in the Japanese version) are enemies in Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. They are big spinning skulls found in various locations within the Reverse Castle. They are invincible, and as such, cannot be destroyed by any means.
Stone Skulls are giant, indestructible, spinning skulls that float up and down in the air. It's not clear if they're just called that way because of how hard their surface is, if they are fossils of real gigantic beings, or if they're actually made of stone. In any case, they cannot be destroyed by any means and their only purpose is to serve as minor obstacles in the levels they are encountered in.
There are two variants, one resembling a yellow human-like giant skull, and another which resembles that of a bovine. Both move and attack in the exact same patterns, the only difference being, aside from their appearance, the locations where they are found.
- If a Stone Skull is hit with the Mourneblade or the Soul Steal spell, it will give back health to the player. Additionally, using the spell of the Alucard Shield combined with the Shield Rod or Mablung Sword will grant Alucard HP +8 and Heart +1 per hit, which could slowly refill his health and hearts to full.
