Official backgroundEdit

The reincarnation of Dracula. He is mortal, but possesses an amazing talent: the power of dominance over monsters' souls. By collecting the Souls released by slain adversaries, Soma can harness those creatures' power. A natural warrior, he is also skilled with all types of weaponry.

Power of DominanceEdit

Soma has the ability to take the soul of any slain enemy. This happens randomly. There are three types of souls, Red Souls, Blue Souls, and Yellow Souls. Soma can have one Blue, one Yellow and four Red souls equipped at any one time.

Unlike his previous games, Soma does not have any Silver souls (Ability Souls), which in other games give him a new ability or stat boost that does not need to be equipped or consume MP. Soma starts the game with all his abilities available to him.

Red SoulsEdit

Red Souls, also known as Bullet Souls, are used as Soma's Hunter Skills. They usually represent a single quick magical attack or other action that incurs an MP cost each time they are used.

Yellow SoulsEdit

Yellow Souls, also known as Enchanted Souls, usually add some kind of statistical benefit or other constant ability, do not consume MP, but can only be equipped one at a time. Soma is the only character with an ability like this, though it is similar to any type of Defensive Gear in function for other characters (which Soma also has).
