The Skull Necklace (or Skull Pendant) is a pendant that affects several stats, especially Defense, but is cursed (and thus decreases Luck). It's similar to the Skull Ring found in other games which instead emphasizes offensive or other statistics evenly and also is cursed with negative luck effects. It's held in contrast to the Flame Necklace (Brisingamen), which emphasizes Intelligence. In Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow, it provides Defense +3 and Luck -1 (the Flame Necklace is +2 DEF, +1 INT). Its price is 666 Gold (although since an item is sold half of its original price, it sells for 333 Gold). In Dawn of Sorrow, it provides DEF +7, INT +2 and LCK -1, and notably sells for 666 Gold (akin to Satan's Ring, which sells for 66,666 Gold). This contrasts with the Flame Necklace, which swaps the amount of DEF and INT and lacks the Luck penalty.
There are two Skull Necklaces of different colors found in Judgment which can be unlocked and worn by characters. The Skull Pendant is unlocked with Dracula in Castle Mode and the Black Skull Pendant is unlocked in Survival Mode. They have no in-game effect.
