Skull Ball is a skull which can be kicked around. It is a signature move of Yorick (called "Soccer Boy" in Japan). Soma Cruz can earn this ability by stealing Yorick's soul in Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow and Harmony of Despair.

Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow
In Dawn of Sorrow, Soma tosses a skull in an arcing pattern, which does slight damage. However, if he is able to slide and kick the skull while it is near the ground, this will be projected with great force, dealing heavy damage to any enemy who stands in its path. As it only consumes 10 MP per use, it is useful to defeat enemies with high resilience (like a Final Guard) with just a few casts.
Castlevania: Harmony of Despair
In Harmony of Despair, it can also be used to jump off of (much like a partner could be), allowing Soma to reach extra heights without the need of a partner.
