The original 8-bit version of Simon Belmont from the original NES Castlevania game is a downloadable character in Castlevania: Harmony of Despair, released on January 26th 2011. As Simon's mastery in sub-weapons increases, his whip changes form and size, growing from its leather form to its more powerful chain form. There is also a sub-attack with his whip that no one else can perform. By hitting down, down-right, right (it also goes the other way), Simon launches a short-range fireball as well as whipping.

Simon GearEdit

Much of Simon's Gear appears in Castlevania: Harmony of Despair. This gear can be equipped by anyone who has inherited the Vampire Killer Whip.

Sub-WeaponsEdit

Simon is able to utilize any "Belmont subweapon" that has been used by all members of the Belmont family, except for Ricochet Rock. All of his weapons reach level 9 just like everyone else. The grind is worth it as it makes him stronger with his basic whip attack. A glitch was confirmed that putting Down-B subskills can be spammed(useful for training them on Survival Mode). Hold Down while pressing LB and B at the same time at fast speeds to spam. Note: Simon's Whip only changes form by reaching higher levels with non-DLC Sub-Weapons. Thus, the Javelin and all Retro Sub-Weapons do not have this effect.
