A Shuriken is a throwing star weapon. Several varieties exist with different strengths, including a Cross Shuriken, Fire Shuriken (also known as a Flame Star), and the Yagyu Shuriken (also known as a Buffalo Star).
Shurikens are thrown straight ahead in Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. It is thrown downwards and forwards in a circular loop in Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance by Maxim Kischine. In Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin and Castlevania: Harmony of Despair, Shurikens are thrown downwards slightly as if they were thrown at an enemy's feet.
