Piercing Silence (also known as Ripped Silence) is a music theme originally composed by Michiru Yamane for Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin. It is the second boss battle theme and features rapid-pace percussion beats, strings, as well as ominous vocalizations. Interestingly, it is only used for recurring bosses in the standard game (that is, excluding those from the Nest of Evil). It plays when fighting against Dullahan, Mummy Man, The Creature, Medusa, Werewolf and Death.
Arrangements later appeared in Castlevania: Harmony of Despair, Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls and the fighting game Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
