Tasty Meat (alternately translated from Japanese as Delicious Meat or Enchanted Meat, also localized as Pot Roast or Spiced Meat) is a food item that appears in several Castlevania games. It is referred to as "tasty" to distinguish it from Rotten Meat or to indicate it gives more health than normal Meat. Aeon discovered that using Tasty Meat in his dishes was better for business.

Game specific information[]

Castlevania: Rondo of Blood[]

There are two variants of the item: the Giant Roast, found only in the room preceding the meeting with the Minotaur and restoring all lost HP, and the Half-Eaten Meat, found only in the room preceding the meeting with Dogether and restoring that little HP.

Castlevania: Symphony of the Night[]

Tasty Meat is referred to as Pot Roast in the North American localization of Symphony of the Night. It increases HP by +50.

Castlevania: Circle of the Moon[]

Tasty Meat is referred to as a Spiced Meat in the North American localization of Circle of the Moon. It increases HP by 100.

Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow[]

Can be found at the beginning of the game, on a ledge across a long body of water filled with Killer Fishes. It is also dropped by Killer Fish. It is a rare and useful food item.

Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow[]

A rare and useful food item. It's rarely dropped by the Gorgon enemy.

Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin[]

This item is represented by a different sprite from the one used for this item in Aria of Sorrow and Dawn of Sorrow. It is a rare drop item from the Catoblepas enemy.

Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia[]

Tasty Meat can occasionally be found in rare chests within Somnus Reef. It can also be found in a breakable ledge located in a vertical room full of Red Skeletons in the Castle Entrance section of Dracula's Castle.

Tasty Meat is the ingredient required to complete Aeon's third and final quest, "Can't Cook Without Ingredients". After giving him one, the items Curry and Thick Steak can then be purchased at Jacob's store. The item itself cannot be bought, nor is it dropped by enemies.

Trivia[]

  • In some games, the recovery value may contain a number "29". This is based on how meat spells in Japanese, being "にく", which is also a pun of "29". The value 29 may also apply to other meat items.
