The Moldy Corpse is an enemy in the Castlevania series. It is a human consumed by evil after eating a cursed mushroom.

Description

A zombie that is so decayed that it now bears fungus growing off of its back, forcing it to crawl around. Each of them takes an amount of time to sprout the mushrooms on their back once spotted by the player. They attack by quickly crawling to the player's vicinity and emitting noxious fumes from the fungus growing on their backs. Even though their design and attack pattern may imply otherwise, neither their touch nor their fumes inflict any status ailments.

They drop Amanita, which in Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin is one of the items required to complete Wind's "Poison vs. Poison" quest (along with a Moldy Bread and a Long Sword).
