The Icons should be first than animations because they do not move like animations. Animations look good, but they may confuse the people by their motions. On the other hand, icons do not, so people don't confuse. Placing the icons look better than placing the animations and their shapes shows people how the items look like clealy. For example, Various weapon pages in Final Fantasy wiki, guns & firearms & key items in Resident Evil, and weapons from Dead Space wiki.
Confusing people? I'm not shattering anyone's mind with the concept of a gif file. The backgrounds have been removed and since they're sprites they load very quickly. It's not like I'm making it look like a MySpace wall.
I would argue that a fully looping animation of the weapon in game is a better representation than a tiny 30 by 30 icon that by the way, is already present in the Item Data area.
What do you think of when you think of SotN'S Crissaegrim? The beautiful animation of the quick slashes, or its boring blue and grey icon?
I didn't really get the part when Marie said "I knew I could not tell you or despair would have eroded your resolve and everything would have been lost". What does she mean by that. The only thing I find that explain this is "she didn't fully trust him or his good heart" but I'm not sure if that's right. Can you help me with this?
Undid revision 172655 by 188.8.131.52 (talk) - Can't you change the image of Maria Renard into something less cartoonish like Symphony of the Night or Dracula X Chornicles? I saw pictures of Annette, Tera and Iris in their Dracula X Chornicles incarnation on their respective pages, so please change Maria's picture along with Richter Belmont's.
@184.108.40.206, being that I'm more acquainted with the classic titles, I personally prefer when a page pays homage to an item's first version; however, this wiki is for everybody, so you may edit as you most see fit, taking into account that others may not share your point of view and may undo your edits, but that's how it works around here. ;)
Also, you may want to register and create a profile, so others can know who you are and call you by your name. Cheers.
@Kiyuhito, that's an option (good luck squashing two, or even three iterations of Maria in the same infobox, lol).
Hmm, lately I've also been editing some pages in the Dark Souls Wiki (where I got banned indefinitely at the chat for posting an actual video of a dude being crucified by a bunch of Neonazis, lol), and the Jem Wiki (just got admin rights there!), and something I like to do sometimes is using tabbed infoboxes. Here are a couple of examples:
I don't think it needs to be discussed and, if someone chooses to use tabs on a particular infobox, would be accepted by everyone. The best part is that there's no need to add new code to the infoboxes' templates themselves, as it works on a separate process.
I propose we keep the videos I uploaded. I want to keep them as I took the time to name them (among many other options) as I considered most appropriate. Also, the first file was already being used in other two pages and now they're messed up. I took the precaution to check the files you uploaded beforehand and they weren't being used anywhere.
I was thinking to use them on Doppelganger page. But you did not check my videos and uploaded the same videos with wrong names. And now, you're using them on the page and claiming that my files are duplicated with wrong names, and deleted them.
Okay, please don't get angry. Just to make it clear, I never claimed your files were duplicated with wrong names, just that I chose those names to keep them consistent with the ones I've been uploading and to look good in galleries. If it means that much to you, then you can proceed as you most see fit, but remember that one of them is already being used in other pages.
Checking the files history, I uploaded "Library Monsters" on May 18th and you uploaded yours on May 22nd. I uploaded "Doppleganger10" on May 23rd, and you uploaded yours on May 22nd, so it was just pure coincidence we both uploaded the same files at almost the same times, and none of us acted with bad intentions.
I've noticed you've been changing many pages' images to screenshots of enemy list entries of Dracula X Chronicles. However, those images are very specific to Symphony of the Night and the information in them is not consistent throughout most games. Also, when a user visits a page, they're expected to see an image that faithfully represents the enemy the page is about, and putting an entry from an enemy list only allows a very tiny box with said enemy's image to be displayed.
Please understand if some of those images are reverted in the next few days; however, the effort you've put in editing those pages should be respected, so most of your changes will remain intact.
Feel free to send me a message if you think this needs further discussion. Have a nice day.
