Masaaki Kukino (久木野 雅昭 Kukino Masaaki?) is a Japanese video game producer. He worked for Konami and SNK Playmore.
He was the lead designer of Konami's 1988 arcade game, Haunted Castle.
Biography[]
Masaaki Kukino was born in Kurashiki, Okayama. He studied to become a clothing/textile designer. While he was researching fashion companies and clothing brands, he came across an arcade game company which drew his attention. So, he started working as a video game producer, designer and director, making side-scrolling beat 'em ups, sports, action, driving, and shooting arcade games.
He designed and directed a number of classic titles while working at Konami, such as Haunted Castle, Crime Fighters, and the Silent Scope series.
He is mostly known as the producer of The King of Fighters XII and The King of Fighters XIII.
Masaaki Kukino left SNK Playmore in November 2010.
