| The name or term "Man Eater" should not be confused with Maneating Plant. |
The Man Eater or Man-Eater is a betentacled insect that lodges itself inside a gigantic skull and attacks by extending its tentacles or shooting ripple lasers. In Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow, all three tentacles must be killed before it is destroyed. A Man Eater also appears in Boss Rush mode for some reason.
A giant Man Eater is the boss of the Skeleton Cave in Order of Ecclesia. It attacks by tossing bouncing skulls and bones, smashing into Shanoa, shooting a ripple laser and reaching out to her with tentacles.

Spelled backwards, Puwexil is "lix ew up", this can be interpreted as "licks you up", which is one of its attacks.
Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia
Edit
The Man Eater appears in Skeleton Cave as the game's fourth boss. Unlike Aria of Sorrow, where it consisted of one skull with eyeball tentacles coming out of the eyes and mouth, it now looks like a giant, many-faced skull with eyeless tentacles. It has two attacks. The first is having the tentacles fire off ripple lasers. Although they can be dodged by jumping through the laser, they are still hard to dodge. Its other attack is dropping its body on you. It can also spawn bouncing bone projectiles. If you want this fight to end quickly, then attack the tentacles, as they are weak to slash attacks, making the Vol Confodere glyph effective. If you want the fight to last awhile, use the Vol Macir glyph to attack the skull. The tentacles, however, are the true weak points of this boss, because they will abruptly stop attacking when you strike one of them, and they will retract back into the skull as well. Your reward for defeating Man Eater is the Ordinary Rock relic, allowing Shanoa to do a double jump. This Man Eater resembles Legion from Circle of the Moon, except larger and with skulls instead of human faces.
Trivia
Edit
Similiarly to Olrox, the Man Eater from Aria of Sorrow also has 666 HP, a number commonly associated with the devil or evil.
