Kojima Productions was a subsidiary of Konami founded by Hideo Kojima and created in order for him to be able to focus completely on producing and directing games, freeing him from the added responsibilities he had at his old position as vice president of Konami Digital Entertainment Japan. In 2015, Kojima broke from Konami and re-created it as an independent company now known as Kojima Productions Co., Ltd.
The company is mostly famous for the production of the Metal Gear series. Kojima and his company helped MercurySteam produce Castlevania: Lords of Shadow.
