Kinuyo Yamashita, also known as "yamako", is the first composer of Castlevania series.

In the original Castlevania, her debut work, she was credited as James Banana, a parody of James Bernard, the composer of the 1958 film Dracula.

She was part of the Konami Kukeiha Club and composed the music of various games, such as Mega Man X3 (1995) for Capcom and Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Wrath of the Darkhul King (2003) for THQ.
