Igor
From the Castlevania Wiki, the Castlevania wiki
Igor is a regular hunchback enemy whom accompanies the Creature into battle in both Vampire Killer for the MSX and Castlevania for the NES. His presence was to emulate the classic Frankenstein movies of the monochrome film era and to add a little more challenge to what would have otherwise been a very unchallenging boss fight.
Like other hunchbacks, his appearance and attack patterns are no different from the normal enemies found throughout the game, albeit that his jumps are longer and faster than the others. However, Igor, unlike other hunchbacks, is invincible and can't die. However, he can be slowed down by a well placed holy water attack for several seconds.
He vaporizes when the Creature is defeated.
Igor has not made an appearance since the first Castlevania game and its rereleases on other systems.
[edit] Igor in Captain N: The Game Master
Igor is Dracula's right hand minion in the cartoon Captain N: The Game Master.
[edit] Trivia
- Igor is based on a character from the classic Frankenstein movies though the character himself was never in the original book: Mary Shelly's Frankenstein.
- In the movies, Igor was a deformed assistant to Dr. Frankenstein.
