Ignis is the name used for any Fire related Glyph, which is Latin for "Fire". There are two kinds of Ignis glyphs, Ignis and Vol Ignis. The regular Ignis glyph called by Shanoa simply Flames causes three small fireballs to be launched forwards quickly with limited range. One goes straight, one angles upwards, and one angles downwards. Vol Ignis, which Shanoa calls Raging Blaze, causes a pillar of flame to erupt from the ground in front of Shanoa.

In Hard Mode, Albus can use the normal Ignis Glyph during his fight, along with Grando, and Fulgur.

Ignis can perform a variety of different types of fire Glyph Unions. When any two Ignis glyphs perform a Glyph Union with each other, Shanoa summons the Ignis Glyph Union attack, which causes two wavy streams of flames to shoot forwards, whose angles moves up and down and criss-cross each other. This attack, called Ignis, can also be performed in Castlevania: Judgement by holding the special button while attacking in the air. She usually calls out "Burn!" during this attack.

When done with a normal weapon glyph, a Glyph Union will cause of large fire sword to be swung overhead. The Burn to Ice Glyph Union is performed with any Grando (Ice) glyph. This causes an ice crystal with a fiery center to be formed with moves forwards slowly. A fireball and ice crystal ball also move forwards, which travel up and down and criss-cross each other with it towards the end of the screen.

The normal Ignis is Shanoa's initial glyph in Harmony of Despair. It functions the same way as in its origin game. It is absorbed from Aliorumnas when she casts it. It takes 15 MP per use and can be leveled up to 9 by continuous usage. Its range gets longer as it levels up.
