Hugh is Nathan's rival. He is jealous of Nathan because he believed that he should be the successor of his father, Morris Baldwin, and therefore, receive the Hunter's Whip. He also believes that Nathan is too weak to fight alongside him. His primary weapon is a sword. Near the end of the game, he is turned to Dracula's side. He is the second to last boss and fights Nathan. Nathan is able to successfully defeat him and bring him back to his senses. When Nathan fight Dracula, Hugh is able to rescue Morris.
In the game,he attacks Nathan with his short sword,he can also use subweapons (the cross,the axe,the holy water and the knife). He have special abilities too : A dash type slash that covers half-screen,an overhead fire sword attack and he can throw five blades that upon hitting Nathan will recover 8 hp to Hugh. And finally,when his hp gets low he uses a type of "item crash" who doubles all of his sub weapons
