A Great Sword is a massive sword that is made to smash through its targets. It is usually obtained from a Guardian type armor. It is also a class of swords in Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow that refers to two-handed European swords that are swung overhead.

Symphony of the NightEdit

The Great Sword is the strongest Great Sword in Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. It has over 50% more Attack than the Obsidian Sword, but lacks the thrusting ability of the other Great Swords.

Symphony of the Night (Class)Edit

About half of the 2-Handed weapons in Symphony of the Night can be considered Great Swords. These generally are swung in a slow fashion, and swung in a little bit more of an arc than other swords. They all have the ability to thrust, usually by pressing back, then forward and attack.
