The Glyph Union relic allows one to perform Glyph Union Magic. These are done by combining the power of the equipped Main Glyph (glyph by default mapped to the Y button) and Sub Glyph (glyph by default mapped to the X button) by pressing up while attacking with one of those glyphs. These are powerful attacks and are the only attacks that consume Hearts in the game. The exact Glyph Union attack that is performed depends on the types of the glyphs equipped. Two glyphs of the same type usually perform a special Glyph Union for that type. Two glyphs of opposite types also may perform a special attack. Any kind of Weapon Glyph plus certain types often perform a single special giant elemental weapon attack. Dominus is the only Glyph Union that also requires a particular Back Glyph to be equipped. The Pulsus glyph union is performed for any two glyphs that are not otherwise not compatible.
