Gaap is an enemy in Castlevania: Lament of Innocence. He is the embodiment of the hatred from the West.

Gaap - 01

Illustration of Tap from the Dictionnaire Infernal.

In demonology, Gaap (also known as Tap, Coap, Taob, Goap) is a high president and prince of Hell, commanding 60 legions. He is one of the four principal kings; the other three being either Belial, Byleth and Asmodai or Amaymon, Corson and Zymymar depending on your sources. He instills great feelings of love and hatred in humans, as well as stupefying fools and enlightening philosophers. Gaap has some animosity towards Byleth and will not cooperate with those who can also summon Byleth. He has power over familiars, as well as the ability to instantly teleport people across the globe.

Gaap's appearance in Lament of Innocence closely resembles the illustration in the Dictionnaire Infernal.
