Flame Armors, also known as Flame Knights, are sword armors imbued with the power of fire. They first appeared in Castlevania Chronicles. Castlevania: Circle of the Moon was the next game to include them, which also introduced an entire class of elemental armors.
Flame Knights appear only in a single corridor in the entire game. That doesn't mean they must not be approached with caution, but on the contrary, it's one of the most difficult parts in the game. A big chandelier suddenly falls to the floor, almost crushing Simon and setting the whole room ablaze. Some suits of armor stored there catch fire and come to life, continuously slashing with their fiery swords. While dodging falling debris and pillars of flame, Simon must make haste in traversing this corridor as fast as he can, as other Flame Knights will spawn behind him and give chase.

The Flame Armor in Circle of the Moon attacks with a fire sword and has the same patterns as the other armors in the game. He takes three steps forward, then pulls his sword back and performs an overhead swing while briefly lunging forward. His attack has short range, since it does not emit a projectile with the swing; however, the damage he deals is significant for his level.
They are common enemies encountered in the Chapel Tower. However, there's a lone Flame Armor that can be found near the beginning of the game, at the very entrance of Camilla's Castle (located in the Triumph Hallway). While dealing with him is completely optional, it's well worth paying him a visit, as he guards the first Crucifix sub-weapon attainable in the game.
