Twin Bee is a hidden item in the Castlevania series. It's worth 5,000 points.

Background[]

TwinBee is the titular character and main protagonist of Konami's long running TwinBee series of cartoony vertical shoot 'em ups. He is an anthropomorphic and sentient blue aircraft with a round canopy. He was created by a scientist called Dr. Cinnamon, and it is this brilliant man's grandson, Light, its current pilot. TwinBee is WinBee's twin brother and GwinBee's older brother.

TwinBee is present in every game of the series and has also made recurring appearances in many other Konami games, whether it is as a cameo or a fully playable character, including the Parodius and Wai Wai series, to name a few.

In his first localized game in North America, he was renamed "Stinger", but has since recovered his original name in following installments.

He appears as a hidden item in Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin, Order of Ecclesia and Harmony of Despair.

TwinBee is playable in several Konami mascot games that also feature Castlevania characters, such as Konami Wai Wai World, Wai Wai World 2 and Gokujō Parodius!

Notes[]

  • Same as with other hidden items, even though Twin Bee's description mentions it to be worth 5,000 points, obtaining it does not add that numeric amount to any stat (other than the fixed INT +50 bonus it provides in Portrait of Ruin), nor can it be sold in order to obtain that amount in Gold.

Trivia[]

  • The description stating this item is worth 5,000 points in some games may be a throwback to some older Konami titles where mascots from their other franchises appeared as hidden items; specifically from the Famicom game The Goonies, where these items were worth precisely that amount.
