The Theatre is the eleventh area Simon explores in Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate. It is here that he first encounters Alucard. In Alucard's journey, this is the sixth area explored, and it is here that a puzzle must be solved in order to save Simon.

Simon's journey[]

An entrance stairway leads directly into an actual theater, the slope of the aisle prompting Simon to jump on-stage. He'll here meet two new enemies of the same class: the macabre puppet and the macabre puppet unleashed. As the battle transition from one phase to the next, a quick cut-scene focuses on a ceiling grate and unknown figure running about on the floor above. When Simon clears the area of evil, another cut-scene gives us a better look at the figure who was scurrying about upstairs; a quick exchange with the Lost Soul about the figure's identity bears no answers, but the path forward is revealed.

The proceeding banquet hall and twisting corridors are domain to more puppets, who at this point are worth a lot of experience. The real objective is to crawl into a crevice and climb up a chasm that takes us out of here.

Alucard's journey[]

The area is not so much a link in a flowing series of areas as much as it is an interesting plot device. Mainly, it's about puzzle-solving via block-pushing.

To start, Alucard will use wind-blowing block to scoot up to a higher platform. He'll then use a magnetic block to influence a nondescript block placed above, forcing it to the left and onto a pressured switch. Then a fire-spewing block can be pushed beneath a soon-burned wooden marionette hand whose broken grip on a rope will lower a normal block, which can then be used as a platform. Finally, he'll use a wind-blowing block to direct a current through an elbow pipe to push a normal block into a pressured switch that operates a nearby doorway.

This is all training for the following scene in which Alucard solves a complicated block-maneuvering puzzle aimed at cutting off the endless flow of puppets troubling Simon Belmont, whom Alucard spotted struggling below. Following another cut-scene, where the two come face to face, Alucard finishes his business in the Theater, he'll want to escape from here by heading right.

I found puppets seated around a table, their wooden bodies positioned in a way that suggested they were enjoying a great banquet. I approached and noticed the table filled will all kinds of delicious foods, and reached out to grab a shiny apple. Its texture felt odd to me, but it was not until I picked it up that I realized it was fake. A trick to attract my attention, but now it is too late... They are here! Find: Theatre

A mysterious voice invited me to sit down. I had a perfect front row seat. The show began with a procession of wooden figures depicting the sad tale of the Toy Maker. The show ended with the curtain closed. I applauded, lost in thought and without realizing that beside me sad dozens of these puppets, all applauding along with me. Find: Theatre
