The Sword of Hador is a sword in the Castlevania series. Heirloom to the House of Hador, it is a sword with a hilt crafted to resemble a red serpent.
Origins[]
A family heirloom of the House of Hador in Tolkien Lore. Hador was the great-great-grandson of Marach, one of the leaders of the Atanatári, and ruled over the House of Marach, which later also became known as the House of Hador. He married Gildis and had three children: Glóredhel, Galdor and Gundor.
Under his rule, he and his people swore allegiance to Fingolfin, High King of the Noldor, and he was granted the land Dor-lómin in Hithlum to live in the year 423 of the First Age. He also received the Dragon Helm of Telchar, a famed Dwarven-smith from Nogrod. Hador was given this helm because it was made for dwarven heads and none had the size to wear it in the land.
Hador was slain during the Dagor Bragollach along with his son Gundor, and the rule of Dor-lómin passed to his son Galdor.
Game specific information[]
Castlevania: Symphony of the Night[]
Known as the "Sword of Helge" in the Japanese version. The weakest of the "normal" legendary swords. It is slightly stronger than the Talwar and slightly weaker than Luminous. It has about the same reach and abilities of the Talwar and has no special effects. Unlike the Talwar, though (and like stronger similar swords like the Luminous), this sword has a strong aura when swung.
If you are exploring the upper castle for the first time along the right edge and found the Talwar in the Anti-Chapel, this sword can be the next one you find if you head toward the giant clock room and then down into Death Wing's Lair. It is found in the hidden hallway in the giant room in the center of level. This is the "same" hallway in which the Broadsword was found in Olrox's Quarters.
