Akumajyo Dracula Peke (あくまぢょお どらきゅら ぺけ Akumadyoo Dorakyura Peke?) is a hidden minigame that came included with Castlevania: Rondo of Blood. It is also known as Stage X "The Fate of Blood Must be Cut with the SUPER CD-ROM² ROM" (血の因縁はSUPER CD・ROM²でなければ断てない Chi no Innen ha Super CD-ROM² ROM de Nakereba Tatenai?). This minigame played instead of Rondo of Blood if the user was using the wrong kind of System Card.
The game has been included in all conversions of Rondo of Blood, only differing on the methods of unlocking it between platforms.
Description[]
Akumajyo Dracula Peke simply consists of a cartoonish Richter Belmont moving from left to right and defeating purple creatures with his whip. Although Richter can receive knockback from the creatures, he cannot legitimately die at all. He can jump over the purple creatures, which can cause them to eventually reach the beginning of the stage and then "defeat themselves" as they touch the left wall. The stage is short and ends in a large board telling players to reset the game and use the correct system card, while a similarly cartoonish Maria Renard walks about, occasionally jumping (sometimes flailing her hands while doing so) and saying "Sorry", always attempting to be opposite of Richter. The track "Op.13" plays all throughout.
In the Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles version, the message at the end now simply tells players to press START to return to the main menu.
The Easter egg version in Castlevania Requiem, which is unlocked by inputting the Konami Code, has a similar message, but also chastises players as cheaters by stating that the collection does not support "extra lives" codes.
Unlocking methods[]
PC Engine Super CD-ROM²[]
In the original version of Castlevania: Rondo of Blood for the PC Engine CD, this minigame triggers if the CD is booted with an incorrect System Card inserted into the console.
Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles[]
The minigame is unlocked by collecting the "Peke" special item, which is obtained by beating Boss Rush Normal between 11:01 and 15:00. Once done, Akumajyo Dracula Peke can be accessed from the game select screen.
Wii Virtual Console[]
In the Wii Virtual Console release of Rondo of Blood, this minigame can be accessed by resetting the game via the Home menu while holding Up, Left, 1 and 2.
Castlevania Requiem: Symphony of the Night/Rondo of Blood[]
Akumajyo Dracula Peke appears as an Easter egg feature in Castlevania Requiem for more recent platforms, wherein inputting the famous Konami Code on the main menu (using and to substitute for A and B, respectively, and Options for Start) will cause the screen to briefly glitch similar to a CRT monitor before loading the minigame.
TurboGrafx-16 Mini[]
The minigame can be accessed in the TurboGrafx-16 Mini version by holding the SELECT button while loading Rondo of Blood.

Trivia[]
- Peke is Japanese for the letter "X", substituting the usual "ekkusu" pronunciation used in the actual game's title and the series title is pronounced "Akumadyoo Dorakyura Peke" (あくまぢょお どらきゅら ぺけ?) to highlight that this is essentially a "wrong" game.
- The yellow triangle surface seen in this game is one of the selectable wallpapers in Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles.
