Ally appearances[]
Chickens appear as some of Maria Renard's many Bird friends in Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls. Some allow Maria to toss giant eggs at her opponents, from which smaller chicks fly off and do more damage. The crowing of the others, on the other hand, allow her to play a thunderous symphony which can harm enemies (see Songbird).

Trivia[]
- The Chicken is possibly a precursor to the Hippogryph boss which Alucard would later face in Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, which also attacks by charging and with its recently hatched baby birds. Further supporting this theory is that Kid Dracula is heavily speculated to actually be Alucard himself.
- The given name of the default Chicken weapon in Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls, "Foghorn", is a reference to the Looney Tunes character Foghorn Leghorn, who happens to be a rooster.
- Eagle Eagle Sabnosuke, an enemy boss from the Parodius series, is a similar bird which also wears an Uncle Sam top hat and which can also be fought by Kid Dracula, who has appeared as a guest playable character in a couple of games from that series.
- Additionally, chickens have made common appearances in this series, generally appearing in groups of three, with a big one at the center, like those depicted in the Kid Dracula artworks.
