- For the ability to become invisible, see Invisibility.
The Invisibility Potion (sometimes called Medicine Jar) is a rare item found in classic Castlevania games. It grants the hero invulnerability to enemies for a small amount of time. It can be found by breaking candles, defeating enemies, or found in breakable blocks.
Game specific information[]
Castlevania: Dracula X[]
Called Transparency Elixir, besides granting Richter complete invulnerability for a short period of time, it also allows him to kill any enemy instantly upon contact. This added property can be very useful in some areas where strong enemies are encountered and the player is forced to traverse in a rush, like the flooding section in Stage 5'.
Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance[]
In Harmony of Dissonance, they can be collected and activated from the inventory screen for brief invincibility whenever the player desires.
Castlevania: Lament of Innocence[]
In Lament of Innocence, this is a relic that drops from the Mirage Skeleton.
Castlevania: Curse of Darkness[]
The Tiramisu Fairy-Type Innocent Devil can learn the Invincible Vase ability. To learn it, Hector must defeat a certain number of enemies while this Innocent Devil is summoned. When cast, the classic yellow jar will appear and break over Hector's head, granting him 10 seconds of invulnerability (note that this ability also disables stealing in many scenarios, especially on Death).
Similar items in other games[]
- In Vampire Killer, the Invisibility Potion was replaced with the Blue Crystal. The Saphire Ring also makes Simon invulnerable, with the difference that with the ring, he can destroy enemies just by touching them.
- The Laurel from Castlevania II: Simon's Quest has the same functionality as an Invisibility Potion. This time, however, it can be collected and activated from the inventory screen whenever the player desires.
- The Cross of Gold from Castlevania: The Adventure also grants a set amount of invulnerability when collected, with the difference that while the invulnerability effect is active, the next candle Christopher breaks will have another one, allowing the effect to be prolonged until it wears off before reaching another candle.
- In Castlevania: Bloodlines, the Invisibility Potion was replaced with the Orb.
- In Castlevania: Circle of the Moon, the Pluto + Unicorn combination makes Nathan Graves transparent, but he is unable to damage anything while in this effect, and the combination drains Mind Points quickly.
- The Alchemy Item Invulnerability from Castlevania: Order of Shadows has a similar functionality to the Invisibility Potion. Like the Laurel, it can be collected and activated from the inventory screen whenever the player desires.
