The [Grab] button can be used to grab enemies in Lords of Shadow games. Players without a chained whip can grip nearby enemies with their hands. Dracula and Alucard can feed off of some enemies after grabbing them in Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 and Revelations. A weapon with a Combat Chain, such as a Combat Cross or Dark Pain, is able to perform a Chained Grab, which can grab enemies from a distance. Grabbing capabilities may increase as the weapon is improved.
In Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2, this mechanic is named Grab and Interact wherein the player can press the grab button to have Dracula interact with objects, or finish off enemies that glow a yellowish hue. Finishing enemies with a grab replenishes a portion of Dracula's health.
