Prologue is the introductory stage in Castlevania: Rondo of Blood.
Overview[]
Richter Belmont rides a carriage during a rainstorm, heading to a village that is being attacked by monsters and where his girlfriend Annette lives. Along the way, Death appears to him to test his strength. After surviving a few attacks, Death tells him that next time things will not be so easy and bids him farewell.

Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls[]
The first chapter of the third book of Grimoire of Souls, Calm Before the Storm, represents the forested area that Richter Belmont traveled through during the prologue stage of Rondo of Blood. The area is traveled by foot this time, but it is still raining like in the prologue.
