Block 1 (also known as Route 1) is the Town (also known as the Village of Warakiya) level of the game Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse. Nintendo Power dubs the entire block (1-01 to 1-04) as "Route 1". After defeating the Skull Knight boss at the last block, the path is split and you are offered the choice to go to Clock Tower (Route 2) or Forest (Route 3).

Trevor's sub-weapons as they appear are the Dagger, Holy Water, Stopwatch, Axe and another Dagger.

Sub-stages[]

Note that sub-stage names are unofficial.
  • 1-01: Church Grounds (Town Square) - Horizontally traverse a ruined church's grounds and then enter the church. No enemies in this sub-stage.
  • 1-02: Church Tower - Vertically traverse a ruined church filled with skeletons and bats. Go across at the top, then back down, followed by a horizontal segment with spinning floors and Medusa Heads.
  • 1-03: Town (Village of Warakiya) - Exit the church and go across a long flat Zombie infested road across a fence from damaged houses. Go down a level and fight Hunchbacks or Ghoul Rabbits in town. Face a Pillar of Bones at the cemetery gates.
  • 1-04: Cemetery (Valley of the Graveyards) - A flat cemetery with zombies and bats followed by a boss fight against the Skull Knight.

Other appearances[]

Main article: Aljiba

It is possible that the town of Warakiya is the same as the town Aljiba from Castlevania II: Simon's Quest. It also has a segment that resembles the town of Jova as depicted in that game.

The general layout for Warakiya was later followed in Super Castlevania IV Stage 1 (which was originally intended to be a town stage), Castlevania: Rondo of Blood Stage 1 (which is canonically Aljiba), and Castlevania: Dracula X Stage 1.
