The alternate path through Stage 4 of Castlevania: Rondo of Blood is called Fortress of the Water Demon or The Final Divergence. It is the river stage.

This stage begins very close to the water with many Frogs swimming. Care must be taken with those close to the top, as they can hurt the player.

The chapter Sunken Fortress of the book Accursed Cranium in Grimoire of Souls represents this stage. It is primarily an outdoor scene in the mountains with the occasional watery and river section.
