- For the "Rocking Chair" found in Curse of Darkness, see Chair.
In some games, there are objects that have no particular use other than to either modify the ending or extend it by a post-credit scene. Thus, they can be considered a side quest.
Game specific information[]
Castlevania Legends[]
The Collected Items are actually the five original Sub-Weapons that Sonia Belmont will hand down to her descendants for future use. She is not able to actually use these weapons herself in the course of the game.
They are hidden in candles in each stage. The length of the game's ending increases the more collected items she finds. If she collects all five, she has succeeded in her destiny as a matriarch of the Belmont Clan, and her ending depicts her giving birth to a future Belmont warrior (presumed to be Trevor Belmont). These items are also used as the symbols for the game's passwords.

Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance[]
The Collectibles are completely unrelated to the progression of the game. They can be displayed in a special room of the Castle Treasury (Castle A and B), set aside for viewing. If all collectibles are found and placed in the room, a special scene where Lydie holds Juste's arm will play during the game's final cutscene.

Trivia[]
- The Wizard's Urn's description in Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance states that "staring at this urn tends to induce sneezing". This is a reference to the 1969 anime series The Genie Family (Hakushon Daimaō), made by Tatsunoko Production. In it, a genie named Hakushon is summoned whenever someone sneezes near the magic bottle he lives in and must then grant them a wish, usually with catastrophic results.
- The Old Radio found in Harmony of Dissonance is noticeable case of anachronism, as the radio was not invented (let alone available as a post prototype) until the 1900s, more than a century after the events of the game.
- According to Koji Igarashi in an interview, the room that Juste Belmont decorates with collectibles was a scrapped idea from Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. The room would have been located at the top of the Outer Wall.[citation needed]
