Brahm's Mansion (ディムの館/ブラームの館 Dimu no Yakata/Burāmu no Yakata?, lit. "House of Dim/House of Brahm"), also called Dim's Mansion, is a location in Castlevania II: Simon's Quest. It is the third accessible mansion in the game.

Overview[]

Brahm's Mansion is the first stop along a dead-end path where the Ferryman takes Simon Belmont to on the Dead River from the coast of the Belasco Marsh area if presented with Dracula's Heart, which is found at the end of Rover Mansion to the far east. Beyond the mansion, the player needs to cross another fork of the great river (upstream of the South Bridge) to reach the Jam Wasteland, where a traveling Gypsy will award a Diamond sub-weapon.

Brahm's Mansion is one of the most straightforward mazes, just simply head up, over, down, and over again in order to find the Oak Stake Merchant and the relic. The player doesn't need to worry about fake floors or walls going this path. There's a section in the upper-left part of the mansion that the player doesn't need to go to, that requires walking through a fake wall in order to "get back". The mansion is populated by a wide variety of creatures that must be dealt with. Death guards the entrance to the relic housed in this mansion, Dracula's Eyeball. The player can just walk past Death to the other exit of his room and completely skip the boss battle. However, defeating him will award the Gold Knife, which is the most powerful dagger in the game. Dracula's Eyeball allows the player to see hidden clues and is one of the required items to enter Dracula's Castle.

Super Castlevania IV[]

Main article: Super Castlevania IV Stage 4

Brahm's Mansion appears to correspond with the Endless Tower of the Trick Manor in Super Castlevania IV. The boss of Brahm's Mansion has been replaced with a boss similar to Death's giant skull second form in Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse, Puweyxil. Also, the skulls that appear in the background are similar to how stages Death resides in tend to have skulls lying about.
