The Basilica is located in the Downtown district of the city.
It is here where Guido Szandor first attempts to summon Satan. The acolyte disappears after he is interrupted by Dracula, Alucard, and Zobek.
Catching on to his betrayal not long after Dracula regains his memories for the first time since his long slumber, the manifestation of Death seeks to be rid of both Belmonts. Dracula finally fights his long time enemy alone, proclaiming to Alucard that the obstacle is for him to deal with. Zobek summons Servant Corpses throughout the battle, but is nevertheless outmatched and slain with the Void Sword. Dracula reclaims the Vampire Killer afterwards before he and Alucard split up to track down Szandor. The latter discovers him in the church a short while later.
