The Hakuba Shrine (白馬神社 Hakuba Jinja?, lit. "Shrine of the White Horse") is a location in Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow.
Overview[]
It is here where most people celebrate the coming of eclipses. Until a ritual in Europe was conducted to seal away Dracula and his castle, strange things have happened. Especially, in the year 2035, Soma Cruz and Mina Hakuba were going to view the first solar eclipse of the 21st century until, in a flash, the two have ended up in Castle Dracula.
According to Mina, Genya Arikado and Yoko Belnades have been visiting the shrine over the years, which is why she knows them.
Hammer, a soldier in the military, was sent on a mission to investigate the shrine, although he had been thinking about bailing on his mission and opening a shop during the eclipse. He also ended up being transported to Dracula's Castle instead.

Akumajō Dracula: Kabuchi no Tsuisoukyoku[]
In the novel Kabuchi no Tsuisoukyoku, after saying farewell to Mina at the shrine two years after the events of Aria of Sorrow, Soma was approached by Death. Death had been wondering if he had anything to do with the apparent appearance of Dracula's Castle, but it turned out he had no knowledge of the event. Soma then confirmed that he did not wish to become the Dark Lord or become Death's new master, so Death departed.
