Excalibur is the strongest sword (and 2nd strongest weapon in all, only Death's Sickle being stronger) in Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow. Excalibur can only be won by completing the Boss Rush rush in less than 7 and more than 4 minutes. Despite the fact it's a sword, that's more classified as a hammer type weapon due to the fact that the sword is lodged within stone. It has a large arc, but is very slow to attack.

Trivia
- Excalibur is the legendary sword (名刀 Meito) of King Arthur Pendragon from Arthurian legend. The weapon is also a reference to the Arthurian legends of the Sword in the Stone which Arthur pulls from the stone and is crowned King of Britain, which in some versions is said to be the legendary Excalibur.
- One possible reason that the sword remains stuck in it's stone is due to Arthurian legend that only be removed by the true king meaning the divinely appointed king or true heir of Uther Pendragon (King Arthur's father). Since Soma Cruz is the reincarnation of the Dark Lord Dracula, he is incapable of removing the sword from its stone (however he gets around this fact by wielding while it remains stuck in the stone).
