Block 2 (also known as Route 2) for the game Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse is the first Clock Tower (also known as the Clock Tower of Untimely Death) of the game. This stage is in the Clock Tower which is not part of Dracula's Castle.

Overview[]

This stage is optional and can be entered from the end of Block 1 (Route 1). Trevor Belmont must ascend the clock tower, fight and free Grant Danasty, then descend the tower with Grant (if chosen) when it starts to crumble. After returning to the beginning of the stage, the path leads to the middle of Block 3 at Stage 03-01 (Route 3). The stage is known as one of the harder levels but is necessary in order to play as Grant.

Trevor's sub-weapons that appear in this stage are the Stopwatch, Axe and Dagger, in this order.

Sub-stages[]

Note that sub-stage names are informal.
  • 2-01: Lower Tower - Go up a stairs up the clock tower, while facing Skeletons and Knights, then head left at the top, and then up more stairs. Head right across some pendulums.
  • 2-02: Middle Tower - Continue climbing upward, making frequent use of gear platforms. Fight Skull Swordsmen and avoid hits by Medusa Heads along the way. Head through a door to the right when you reach the upper tower (colors of the blocks are now blue instead of green).
  • 2-03: Upper Tower - Continue climbing upward with similar yet trickier platforms and enemies. At the top, head left and face Nasty Grant boss. Allow Grant Danasty to join your party after knocking some sense into him if desired.
  • 2-04: Down Upper Tower - The bridge to Dracula's Castle collapses, necessitating a climb back down the clock tower. Climb down sub-stage 2-3, but this time with Grant if allowed to join party. The game can continue at the beginning of this stage if you run out of lives.
  • 2-05: Down Middle Tower - Continue climbing down sub-stage 2-02.
  • 2-06: Down Lower Tower - Continue climbing down sub-stage 2-01. Exit to the Forest stage 3-01.
