The Crimson Cloak is a cloak that is red as blood. It is a common middle tier cloak and is usually more effective than a standard Cape, but less effective than the Black Cloak. It usually improves Defense and/or Constitution. It appears similar to the Bloody Cape.

In Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance, it is a mid-range cloak, giving +12 Defense, which is better than an Emerald Cloak (+5), the same as a Wind Cloak (which also gives protection against Wind attacks), and less than the Ninja Cloak (+15 in addition to +5 Luck).

In Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow, it is also a mid-range cloak, giving +3 Defense and +1 Intelligence, being better than a Cape (+1 DEF), and worse than the Black Cloak (+5 DEF, +2 INT).

It keeps its same relevant importance in Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow, where it gives +4 Defense, which is one greater than the Traveler Cape, but one less than the Black Cloak.

In Castlevania: Harmony of Despair, the Crimson Cloak is one of two four-star cloaks that are exclusive to Soma and Alucard (the other being the Black Cloak. It offers twice as much protection against Fire and Ice as most capes do (+10 each) and has relatively high stats (HP +8, MP +8, DEF +5, STR +2, MND +2).
