Claws are short range weapons which can be used to swipe at opponents, in some cases they pertain to a weapon class. There are many variations of claws throughout the series, either by being natural claws grown out from fingers, or wrist worn weapons which provide large metal claws to a character. They usually deal slashing damage.
Game Specific InformationEdit
Freddies were notorious in Simon's Quest for rushing at Simon while swiping their claws. Originally named "Claw" in Japan, in the Western release his name was changed to "Freddie", due to his similarity with the horror movie character, Freddy Krueger, which was notorious for wearing a metal glove with large claws to murder his victims.
Malachi attacked by performing a powerful punch-like swipe with his claws in Symphony of the Night, a feature which remained in later games in which he also appeared.
Claws are the short-range weapon that Cornell uses in Legacy of Darkness. His normal attack actually projects a blade-like energy swipe which travels through the air, allowing him to perform medium range attacks.
Similarly to his incarnation in Legacy of Darkness, many of Cornell's attacks in Judgment utilize his claws as well.
Dracula utilizes the Chaos Claws in order to gain punching and clawing attacks that are augmented with the power of fire. They also enable him to break through enemy armor through heat and smashing damage.
