Castlevania: Symphony of the Night released on the Xbox Live Arcade for the Xbox 360. The option to use enhanced graphics is available, which smooths out the pixels for use on a higher resolution screen. By default, the action takes place within a frame, though it is possible to expand it to cover the entire screen. Xbox Live Arcade standard features, such as Achievements and Leaderboard tracking has been added. The game is larger than a standard Xbox memory card, so a hard drive or 512MB memory card is required. The game was also released in disc format in Konami Classics Vol. 1, a compilation which features this game alongside Frogger and Super Contra.
The North American version plays identically to the PSX North American version of the game. This means that any items that were left out of the North American PSX version (such as the Nose Demon Familiar) have also been left out of this game. The dialog is also identical to the PSX dialog. The ending theme "I am the Wind" was removed and replaced by an instrumental called "Admiration of Clan".

After beating the game once, the game will track the amount of time taken to get to certain objectives or a score at these times. These scores can be compared to your previous runs, your friend's runs, and global runs. Some of the Time Attack benchmarks are similar to those found in the PSX version, which did not feature online capabilities.
