Doppel This page is about traditional boomerang. For the cross-shaped item which behaves like a boomerang, see Cross.

A Boomerang is a sub-weapon that appears in some games instead of a Cross, or in addition to it.

The item first was introduced in the 1988 arcade game Haunted Castle, where it only flew forward a limited distance and did not return. It later appears in the 1994 Sega Mega Drive game Castlevania: Bloodlines as a weapon that returns back in an arc after being thrown. This type of boomerang returned in Symphony of the Night, Portrait of Ruin and Harmony of Despair.

A flaming version of the boomerang, called the Fire Boomerang, also exists in some games.
