The Black Cloak is a cloak as black as night with a lining as red as blood, is well suited for vampires and is one of the strongest cloaks in games it appears in, if not the strongest. It is similar in appearance to the Ninja Cloak.
In Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, it is called the Twilight Cloak in North America and the Midnight Mantle in Japan. It gives a Constitution boost of +10 and a Defense boost of +4. This is one more CON than Joseph's Cloak.
In Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance, the Twilight Cloak gives DEF +18 and LCK +5, which is 3 greater of each than the Ninja Cloak. The cloak also changes Juste's after-image appearance, by darkening the color enough that it looks almost like he had been inflicted with the Curse status.
In Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow, the Black Cloak gives DEF +5 and INT +2, which is two more DEF and one more INT than the Crimson Cloak.
In Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow, it gives DEF +5, which is one more than the Crimson Cloak.
The Black Cloak is an exclusive cloak to Alucard and Soma in Castlevania: Harmony of Despair and is tied as the most valuable (5000 gold) cloak with the Paludamentum. It is the only cloak that offers protection against Dark attacks (+10) and gives three times as much defense against Fire and Ice (+15) as most cloaks. It offers the highest amount of HP (+13) and Defense (+6) for any cloak, is only one of three cloaks that offers a Constitution boost (+2), and grants the second highest amount of MP (+13).
