An Armored Fleaman is a simple Flea Man encased in armor and equipped with a menacing axe and a shield. After its armor is destroyed, the flea man continues to hop around until it is destroyed also. It should be noted that Armored Fleamen and regular Flea Men are not the same enemies in the games they appear in; an Armored Fleaman will still drop an item once its armor is destroyed, and when the resulting Flea Man is destroyed, it may drop another item. While not in armor, regular Fleamen were shown to prefer twin axe blades in the 3D games Castlevania: Lament of Innocence and Castlevania: Curse of Darkness.
